I graduated from nursing school many years ago,
and now I am a student in the
MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults at Vermont College
Honors: In January 2007, I was extremely honored to win
the Marion Dane Bauer Scholarship at Vermont College.
Career: I'm a pediatric nurse in the field of child protection.
I write children's books, and hope to retire from my nursing career
to be a full-time writer.

Hobbies:

Writing, Reading, Baking, Photography, Knitting & Crocheting, Gardening.

Kids, spooky things, magic and magical beings

Ice cream and lasagne (I'm starting to sound like Garfield the cat.)
Favorite Books: For Adults: The Merlin Trilogy by Mary Stewart; also
Millard Fillmore, Mon Amour by John Blumenthal

Favorite Season: Spring/Summer. Barefoot weather, however long that lasts.
And no, I wouldn't want to move to a warm climate for barefoot weather
all year long. I like snow, too,
Favorite Movies: We all loved Lord of the Rings. Looking forward to The Hobbit.
Favorite Vacation Spot: Cape Cod. Whale watching is the best!

Favorite Sports Teams: I live with some sports fanatics. There's no getting around picking favorites.
Soccer: (The Brown Family most adored sport ever...) The New York Red Bulls
Football: The Indianapolis Colts (even in their bad years); Baseball: NYYankees;
Hockey: The NJ Devils; Basketball: I hate to watch basketball, so, nobody.
Favorite TV show: I don't watch TV. Seriously. I have four kids, a full time job and full time school.
Who has time for TV? I think it's overrated. However, I have several TV lovers in my house,
So if I were to watch a show with them,
it would be Scrubs or The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.

Pet Peeves:

People who don't use turn signals, days of the week that start with M, and flying bugs.
